Im afraid that it can't be done, you can infact (on most editors) simulate a different timecode. On BVW machines it is possible (with a remote) to lace in a new LTC timecode, rewritting the VITC is something i never tried. Using the TC as an adress code works on your console works better and easier. If the Timecode strips are damaged, it is best to copy your work to another tape. Metal dies of fast on old UVWT tapes, using the metal evaporased maxell equivalants works better.

I have a UVW - 1800P recorder. Can someone please show me how to recorder new timecode on tape that has already been striped such that the picture and sound remain intact and only the timecode is recorded afresh?

Thanks,Dave.

I was asking that same question last week. I don't know what your views are on ITV Digital, but I live in Basingstoke, and my local pub is showing the football on ITV, I think you will find on here:http://www.itv-digital.co.uk/company/home/publocator/locator.htmlthat The Railway Tavern has one.Hope that helps.

Hey there, I'm due a long vacation at the end of this month, and am goin to stay with my parents in Andover, and as old fashioned as they are, they hate football. I'm looking to find out if there are any pubs in the area that are showing the UEFA, Nationwide, and Worthington Games. Does anybody know?

Anyone got an old UVW or early Betacam machine they not longer want (eg a machine only good for spares/repair that might be going fairly cheapish). Thanks, Keith.

The UK uses PAL. And most small tv stations aswell as most professional outfits don't have the ability to playback NTSC Betacam SP. Besides looking horible NTSC to PAL conversion gives a lot costs. Since it's a commerical why not try 16mm film and working on avid (24fps) and mastering / bouncing to both PAL aswell as NTSC Betacam

Hello. I am producing a commercial in the USA for a client based in the UK. I am aware of the NTSC/PAL difference, and I'd like to know if the average consumer in the UK has the ability to easily switch between the two formats. My clients need to view the progress of the spot on a daily basis, so it is imperative that I know if they will be able to view VHS and betas on NTSC. Would you please help clarify the UK's video system for me so that I can schedule my project more accurately? I would be grateful for any input you may have.
