Hi,

Has anyone got an old manual for a Philips VR2021 VCR. I bought the video on Ebay and as a present for my father who had 2 broken machines and hundreds of tapes. If you have a manual (even a photocopy) or know where I can get hold of one, I would appreciate this. I am willing to pay. Many Thanks

Cliff

Hi Video 2000 fans,

internet official for CVC detail: http://bidouille.dyndns.org/~bruno/technicolor.htm

Epilog : CVC Technicolor VCRs have been largely marketed in Germany under the Quelle, Grundig and Uher brands as well. When the Video 2000 standard has been launched by Philips and Grundig, it was once planned to re-use CVC system as a Video 2000 derivative portapack format. For those who ignore it, Video 2000 was a system that used only the half width of a 1/2" tape to achieve video recording. So, as the audio cassettes, Video 2000 cassettes had two usable sides for recording and playback (no autoreverse machines were built). If you only use the half width of a 1/2" tape, that means that you record on a 1/4" width. The big idea was then to use a modified CVC system to record a Video 2000 compatible video tape that could have been played back on conventional decks with an adaptator (like the VHS-C). No further development occured... Well, where are we now, after all that babbling ?? But right here, I'll say..... Finding a CVC VCR today is quite an impossible mission today in France. But more, I ignored that other models than the portapacks existed. I don't think that the VCR pictured below ever existed in SECAM and had been imported here.

Bye Sergio

Can anyone advise on alternative formats ?I have just found the most amazing stash of old video equipmentI am familiar with Betamax & V2000 (just picked up a BIG box of tapes) , & have heard of U-matic, but I've seen some items tonight which have really baffled meSome of the equipment is ex-Grampain TV studio - would I be correct in calling it "one-inch video" ? It uses heavy metal spools - there are several cased systems + tapesAlso, which shape is U-matic ?There are several boxes of tapes, some square, like my school used to use, but thee are also some huge oblong cartridges - any idea which format they might be ?

Ciao amici fans del grande e insuperabile sistema video2000. io pensavo fino a qualche giorno fa che la ultima produzione Philips dei video2000 fosse stata quella relativa alla serie vr23xx (2324, 2334, 2340, 2350), vr24xx (2414) e vr28xx ( 2840,2870pcm ),oggi ho scoperto che sono esistiti anche i questi altri videorecorder: 2480,2485,2486,2488,2489, 2490 e 2498.
