Sony slhf100as problemg/day wonder if anyone has any advice on the common fault I seem to have on the 3 slhf100 m/c's of mine all 3 appear to be in little used/excelent condition but allplay/record only for a while before stopping they start up again but only run for a while before stopping again - tape seems to bunch up just past the pinch rollercausing the m/c's to stop - have removed the rotars cleaned the shafts and bearingsunder the rotars re-assembled onnly to find I still have the fault - would be gladof any ideas/advice from any fellow betafans
Can anyone tell me where I might locate the schematics for the Sony Handycam CCD-F33?
Noel, thanks for your help so far with my SL-HF100 (with no sound). All voltages leaving power board M are now OK (both switched and unswitched). You can hear and feel relay RY621 clicking in and out with the on/off switch. Board AM-5 seems to deal with some sound and I have a reading of 3.12V at TP502. Don't know if this helps.Ant.

Once you've removed the bottom base plate the top case should pop off easily as the only thing it's holding onto is the front faceplate - it's attached to the bottom plate only by the two screws on the back where the multibus, power and RF connections are.
By holding the sides of the cover assembly pushing slightly but straight out against the plate holding the multibus, power and RF connections, you'll undo the clasps holding the cover assembly to the front faceplate. You then need to detach the connector to the battery on the back right side and the cover is off.
I have a Sony SL 2000 which has jammed and will not allow the tape to be ejected. The drive system seems to be running continuously, but none of the controls will operate. I have removed the bottom base plate, but am unable to access the tape. Can anyone tell me how to remove the outer case in order to access the tape? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Noel, No repairs made so far, I just left the machine on for a week and let a tape play through to the end two or three times. (A trick picked up from my Nakamichi friends with old machines that haven't been used in years)At the moment I have a perfect picture from the sony demo tape and from tuner.I have no sound from tape (hi-fi audio selector in auto or normal), or from tuner at RF out or RCA out. I do get the test tone from the tuner at RF out.As you suggest, I'm will try and find someone local who can have a look at it for me. Does anyone know of such a place or person in Port Elizabeth, SA. (Just trying my luck. Thanks again.Ant
Noel, switching power units faulty usually in the Oscilating area, since there no clue of yours it might be the Zener, thyristor, triode, triac, possibly capasitors or resistor. Have you tried the 12V adjusting board(one have Linear IC on) swapping from the working 950. Carefull on swapping there's some risk. You can check the board in LIVE condition by using 220 to 220 transformer converter( this will isolate you from the MAINS)[the primary windings and the secondary must separated]. I suspect it's the OSCILATOR.
Boby, I looked at the SLHF950 power supply boards and it looks as though the mains board has the problem. I got the spares machine not working. I remember now that I supplied the correct voltage to the second board from a bench power supply to fire the machine up and that didn't work so they both might be faulty???
Richard, The drum motor "glue on the hall affect sensor" seems to me a bit of an urban myth. In all the machines I have had drum motor faults in that was not the problem. The drum motor ICs in a few I did prove to be intermittant. They would run for a while then give up. dry joints to the coil wires, dry electrolytic caps and faulty hall snesors are what I suspect are the main problems. If you replace the motor and dont use the right spacers you can cause mechanical wear and friction by the drive magnet rubbing the coil wires.
John, Nice pictures of the SLC9 and auto changer for sale above.
regards Noel Higgins
Anthony,
I cut the following from the original email you posted 16 July (whic slipped into Archives)to keep track of what you problem is. "Hi. I have recently bought a SL-HF100SA which is in 'as new' condition (original packaging and all). Apparently only had about 20 -30 tapes played through it all it's life. Plugged it in and ran the original Sony Demo tape and everything worked great. Next day tried to watch a tape and there is no sound (RF or AV). I can get the test tone from the tuner but that is all, no broadcast sound either. If I unplug the mains for a day, I will get sound for a few minutes, then all is quite. Picture is 100%."
To answer your email above 3.12V at TP502 sounds about right. TP502 is supposed to be for waveform monitoring of "linear" audio. A voltage 3.9V appears at an IC output and is voltage divided for presentation at the boards output connector by a combination of 2.4Kohm in series and 10Kohm to ground. This voltage divider would drop the voltage to 4/5ths of 3.9V.
1/ I dont know if you fixed any faults in the power supply, and have tuner back???
2/ Starting from scratch on the problem, if you play a prerecorded tape, can you hear either HiFi or linear audio. (select using audio selection switch in the RHS front panel)
I think it might be time to take it to a repair place as this does not just seem like one issue.
regards Noel

Hello everyone! This is my first message on this page and it is for help, if anyone could spare the time.I am in need of a Head Drum motor for a Sony SL-F30, I bought this off ebay a few weeks back, but the fault the seller advertised did not exist, it was something far more sinister. I put it in for repair, and the bloke told me there was no head drum rotation, he cleaned the glue off the hall effect to no effect, and said that the head drum motor HAD gone and he could not get another one as they are not being made.
I have nearly 500 tapes and nothing to play them on, as I bought them all before I had a beta vcr, so I have not seen any of them :***(
If anyone could please help, Please get in touch.Regards.Richard Sleeman.

Ahhhh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!
RIAA Sues Self ------------------------------------------------------------------------RIAA Kazaa Investigator Sued by RIAA for using Kazaa
July 11, 2004Washington DC-RIAAÕs chief music piracy investigator, Stan Fessle, was named in RIAAÕs latest round of lawsuits targeting people who download pirated songs from online services such as Kazaa. Fessle has a large collection if pirated MP3Õs stored as supporting ÔevidenceÕ for the lawsuits filed against thousands of internet users. Ironically those same files caused Fessle to show up as RIAA enemy #1. FessleÕs IP address was finally tracked back to him, and the RIAA legal department filed suit against Stan Fessle.
ÒThis is ridiculousÓ, remarked Stan at a recent press conference, ÒThey asked me to collect these songs as evidence, and now they are suing be for it. This sounds like entrapment to meÓ. The RIAA has offered to settle the Lawsuit for $ 3000, and have further conceded that they would accept $300/month deducted from his paycheck for 12 months if he cannot pay the fees up front. FessleÕs department, however, is planning on fighting the lawsuit, claiming that the RIAA unfairly intruded on his personal privacy rights as an employee.
ÒWhile this may seem like an odd maneuver, a company technically suing itselfÓ, stated a high ranking official of the RIAA on the condition of anonymity, Òlike any organization the RIAA is in a position where internal departments are at competitive odds. The legal prosecution and legal research divisions of the RIAA are both very different organizations.Ó. Large companies like Sony do in fact have different branches that have competitive differences. Sony, for instance, sells Laptop computers with Microsoft Windows installed, making Sony a partner of Microsoft, and yet a different branch of Sony sells the Playstation 2 which pushes up against MicrosoftÕs XBOX, making Sony a direct competitor of Microsoft. However, this situation is the first situation where a company has sued itself.
The RIAA is continuing to urge Stan to settle out of court and not create a media circus.

There's a motor on the top of the loading mechanism, dismantle/cut the wire connect it to a 9 volts battery touch by touch so the motor will make jog movement. If there's no mechs problem the Casette should come out. Pay attention on the polarity.

Bobbie,
You didn't say if it is front load or top load, Sony Sanyo or what ever. Depending on the machine design it will go through an unthreading of the tape where it winds it back into the casette then the casette is ejected. On sony models the plastic gears can break, th age making them brittle and pressure buildup due to increased friction from dust, wear etc.I suggest you take it to someone who knows what their doing because you can break more parts trying to force the tape out and because they are old even secondhand parts are unobtainable. On Sanyo models the fault could be as simple as a broken or perished rubber wheel or belt. -regards Noel
We have an old Beta machine. There is a tape stuck inside. We can not seem to get it out, even by taking off the top. It seems like it might not be getting enough power. any suggestions? We live in Salem Oregon.
That's just a Local/remote switch. They're common enough on industrial decks but virtually unknown on home decks. However, a significant portion of used (and therefor most likely sans manual) SLO-1700s have fallen into the hands of the public, so this is smartly noted.
FOR INFORMATION- IT'S NOT A FAULT! Beware the black slide switch at the back of a SONY SLO1700. Both Mitchell and I have had the front controls cease to work because this switch has been bumped off. That's what it is supposed to do when the "printer" is used with a remote control unit but it still does the same without a remote control plugged in. I didn't even know it was there until I got the service manual. (It needs to be slid away from the power supply side of the machine for local operation.) -regards Noel

Andrew,
OK on fixing the CD06 for you if you want. I have emailed you from my home address with details. From my SLC9AS manual, the CD-09 is the DC/DC that they use which nothing like the CD06. It is worth keeping or selling to a SLC9 owner because they all eventually give up and there are no new replacements available from Sony now. If your lucky they can be repaired though (see http://www.palsite.com/pcat_dcdc.html) and I do fix them from time to time. If you have a set of spare metal loading gears from the SLC9 load mechanism of the machine you got the power supply from then I could sure use them!(http://www.palsite.com/slc9tech.html) I am hoping there is someone "out there" who has chased up a manufactured replacement for the plastic ones by now?
Michell, I am still following up on a service manual to try and fix the SLO1700 fault you are talking about.
regards Noel.

Andrew,
I'm capable of repairing the PS/voltage converter but since Noel has experienced on it you may count on him.
I was just like you when first repairing Beta but the different is I got talent. When it comes to fixing machine you got to have concentration, happy doing, and visions.Otherwise you may lead to a mistake.
I bought my betamax VCR in 1980. Unbnfortunately, its nit working now and I can't play my tapes. I would like to by a second-hand/reconditioned betamax VCR in good working order. Please contact me if you can help.
Thanks.
In my last post I got the two metal things mixed up! The UP model as installed has the smaller CP-06 installed. Sorry for the error. Now you'll appreciate my hopelessness in this respect!
I've got the power supply out and was about to put in my spare only to find the two are subtly different. The power supply in the machine is an SR-11UP, whilst the spare is an SR-11E. Now I'm not sure whether this affects your description, Noel, but the only difference between the two that I can see is in the very board you're talking about! For example, the big shiny metal thing is marked CD-09 on my board and CD-06 on the potential replacement - the latter is about half the size. Added onto this are a different set of pins which make me think it's a non-starter.
If anyone is offering to have a look at this board and do any repairs required, I'm quite prepared to pay - and to ship to wherever! I suspect it's going to be beyond me...

I would cancell building System ;Intel is about to release new processor "Pentium 5"It's called Socket 775.Prices will dropped soon enough.
Paul- I have not been following you problem closely, but thought it sounded like ACE. Have you checked that the tape "back tension" is OK? If it is too high it causes excessive head wear but if it is not enough the it affects (reduces) tape to head contact. I am not familiar with your model. regards Noel.
Anthony - sorry the last post was supposed to be relay RY621 on the power supply M board.
Anthony,
Well, you made me do it. When all else fails consult the manual. SLHF 100 supply is nothing like the SLC9 or SLO1700. I have fixed a lot of SLHF100s and have not had an issue with their DC/DC before. The manual I have is for SLHF100E which has power supply SR-19E. If you are getting 42V/-32 volts then it is working OK. Regarding your reversal of voltages at two pins, it must be an error inboard markings because as you said the machine can run OK for a time. Those voltages are for display and tuner. The switched 12V appears at 5 of the conectors on my circuit. CN003 (a four pin white connector has at pin1 sw12V pin 2 45V pin 3 -30V and pin 4 ground.
If the switched 12V does not appear then look for CN007 (a 7 pin white connector) and check pin 7. It should be 12V and is decribed on the circuit as unswitched 12V out. It comes from the changeover contact of relay RY62. We will take it from there after you check but my guess given this machine has not been used much is that you might have poor contact in the relay contacts due to corrosion, (tarnishing) This was common in audio relays of the C7 but that was because they do not carry much current to break down such resistive deposits.
Hey Boby, I just got the LCD monitor L17T and it works pretty good with inbuilt tuner SVHS, composite etc. It even matches an SLC9 (silver/black)
To Paul -- replace the pinch roller ,cleaning doesn't help a bit.The roller is cupped and not making complete contact with the capstan and cleanin won't help that. i buy most of my parts from MCM Electronics.Their number is 1 -800 -543-4330. The part number is 32-5755 and is only 4.60 ea.I've used a lot of these and although they're generic they work fine.Boby is right about cleaning the drum but I'am pretty sure the pinch roller is your problem.
olive_e_thomas@yah¿¿.n¿spam.c¿m

Sanyo VTC 5550 PAL/ SECAM multisystem Beta VCR...
Hi Paul how's the weekend, I wouldn't suspect the PinchRoller if there's no tape deflection/messed up. Since you put a bit pressure on it ,the tape become more attach/sticks to the Drum and makes the Rotary heads have more magnetic effect. That trigger good amplifications so the picture appears..---Unload the tape If your pinch roller rols smoothly then its OK---(Let's say that there's no mechanical and RotaryHead problem you may proceed to the electronic stuff.)( you can have Thursday 22nd July 2004 5:00 pm U.K. Time post as additional clue)
SLO1700 Morning all,Got an SLO1700 that was giving great service until one day it decided not to switch on.With the mains on. the counter lights up. However pressing the 'power' button does notcause it to 'wake up'. Looking at the supply all unswitched volts come up. The switchedvolts however do not get passed the power relay. Which is controlled by a negitive goingpower signal. ANY IDEAS? :=/

I dug out my sick 900 and took the roller from that and cleaned it but this also did not help. I applied a small amount of pressure to the roller carriage and the picture does play for a few seconds so this still may be the problem. I will try to locate a a new Pinch Roller and put that in.Ant suggestions other than this site to get this part?Paul
Andrew, Boby, Noel
I am experiencing a similar problem no sound- as posted on 16th July, only now the sound has gone completely. Following this discussion, I opened up my machine( SLHF100 ) last night with the following observations: Power supply model no. SR-19UB. What I presume is the DC/DC is a board marked D with 5 pins labelled with voltages. Readings on each are according to that stated except pin 5 & 6 where I get the readings swapped with that printed on the board (42V and -30V).
At the connectors leaving the power board, I am not getting a 12V reading on 5 of the 6 plugs. The -30V and 42V readings are present at the correct pins.
Any ideas? I will keep all posted on progress.
Thanks
Ant

To Tamer. Not exactly sure about what you're looking for but if you don't want your VHS tapes recorded over just break off the record tab along the spine of each tape.
If you're looking for a macrovision or other copy-protect encoder (to protect your recordings from being copied) try eBay. I don't imagine there'll be a lot of them and I doubt they're gonna be cheap.

To power up an SL-2000 (or the Zenith clone VR-6800) you can use either the AC-220 or AC-700 power supplies. You could also use Zenith's version of the AC-220 power pack the VRP-9852. The VR-9800 was built by Sony for Zenith and apart from the button panel is virtually identical to the SL-2000.
If you can find them you could also use a power brick that fits into the NP-1 battery slot. There are 4 of them that I know about; ACP-110, 150 220 and 420.
I have a copy of the SL-2000 service manual.
i ask for a product that enable me to protect my VHS and SVHS tape from another copy while i can playback only from my original tapeori can play back my VHS and SVHS tape but i can not get another copies from itplz replay fastely if there r a prodect like that

Thanks Boby, You are spot on.
Andrew, What you need to find is the board which is located on the power supply, toward the centre at the back of the machine. The metal bright metal can is the DC/DC. About 5,7V input (if the fuse is not blown) gives -12V output. That voltage will appear at one or more of the connectors of that board but witjout a circuit at the moment I cant tell you which. If the multimeter proves this out then your best option is to send the board to someone who can repair it. Australia might be a bit far.
regards Noel.
The Fuse you've checked is a slow blown fuse. The fuse Noel said is the microamps Fuse ((the shape much likely a silicon transistor with 3 legs but that fuse have 2 only))Usually it's written a N10 N15 or N25.If the fuse is OK you may proceed to DC-DC convertor. If can't recognize the convertor you may ask Noel again.
Don't giving up on yourself .SLO1700 is a very good machine.
Thanks for the tips on the SLO-1700. I'm not an electrical engineer but do have a vague idea of how to use a multimeter! As such I've located a fuse on one of the boards inside the machine and tested it but it's intact. It was located on the left-hand bottom board as accessed from below, with T500mA written next to it. I'm not sure if this is the only fuse as I'm reluctant to delve further into the machine just yet.
I guess it's the power supply next - I do have a spare, though that's untested...

Andrew,
I have repaired two SLO1700 units with the same problem. It most likely missing a -12V supply line which is generated by a DC/DC convertor. The audio section of the SLO1700 uses +/- 12 for the amplifiers. The SLO1700 borrows heavily from the SLC9 power supply design but the DC/DC convertor and board is changed a lot. The SLO1700 does not need the tuner and display voltages used in the SLC9. I don't know how technical you are so I wont go into great detail but basically three capacitors in the DC/DC and a solid state fuse on the main board need to be replaced.
regards Noel.
Or possibly a crack at a soldering point /rusty PCB.
If that doesnt ring a bell.

Check on fuse at the Audio process block, power supply, regulating transistors, Cable shoe, Interconnect terminal, Liniear Amps chips, etc. Would be very hard for me to determined the exact fault. Usually dead Switches can cause that.
Cheers
Just grab a SONY HVR-500 (Japs Tripod remote for all major Camera)from an aquaintance. There's a cute 0.7" B&W screen in Remote PAD.How much will that go on Ebay?
I have a SLO-1700 which, up to now, I've only used for replaying PCM digital audio tapes. For the first time today I've been trying to replay a standard video cassette, and whilst there's no problem with the pictures I can't hear anything. Both the regular and hi-fi audio outputs are silent as is the headphone socket.
I tried putting some audio into the machine but hear nothing and see no movement on the VU meters when in REC/PAUSE mode, again both using normal and hi-fi inputs and outputs.
This suggests either there's something obvious that I've missed or that there's a major fault in the machine. I'm hoping it's the former! Does anyone here have experience of this machine who could point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Andrew

I don't think Bebelfish can do Indonesian yet but they're adding new languages every so often. Now translates Dutch to English...

Karen: a SABOT is a (I believe Dutch or French word for) shoe (in that page it likely refers to a brake shoe) and became the root word for sabotage because in the olden days of the industrial revolution disgruntled workers would toss a shoe into early factory mechanisms to cause a breakdown. This happened often enough for it to be called sabotage.
Also refers to a break-away casing placed around an oddly shaped shell or projectile so that it can be fired from a cannon. The sabot drops away right after leaving the barrel and the projectile continues to it's target. I couldn't tell you how that'd relate to a Beta VCR...
Naibo: I have several spare SL-2000 reel drives if you want to do a full replacement. Just clean up my e-mail address - replace ¿'s with o's and drop the ".n¿spam".
SONY SL-2000 reel & unload problem:My portable beta sl-2000 now does not playback, that is, its capstan works, but tape take up reel doesn't work. By putting a "fake" cassette(an empty cassette without tape), I observed that its SUPPLY Reel rotates when playback, not the TAKE UP reel! The Takeup reel works when Fast Fowarding.
Another problem is unloading: the Supply Reel rotates, but the Loading Motor only works a little, then stops. It WORKS WELL when Loading.
Any suggestions, my friends? :)
I have quite a few BETA Movies that are originalsnin their boxes I am looking to sell. If anyone is interested, please get in touch at [email protected]
Thank you
"And, with the front section as under, the deck is turned over and the sabot is removed."WHAT IS "SABOT" SABOTAGE?? AWW COME ON........

Hi OliveHow to reverse that from ours to JapsheuheuMiss ya
Paul; I recommend that suggestion ([email protected] <[email protected]>).If you got the Pinch roller stuff full of Tape's dirt you may wipe around with Kerosene on the Capstan Shaft. On the rubber roller you can use it too but you got to clean it immediately by the Sprayer I mentioned last time or with Alcohol instead. This is usefull.

If PALchat splits the URL cut n paste the lot.
To Joan Wilson. The serial number of your Betamax on offer is pretty much meaningless. Should be looking for the model number (should start with SL-xxxx or SL-HF xxxx).
FOR SALE: Sony Betamax Serial #802009, it has a time, date and month, it is a front loader. 39.5 Watt. I have over 25 betamax movie tapes also for sale. The betamax and taples for $80.00,plus shipping and handling. If interested please e-mail me.
To Paul McIntyre-- I've had the same problem with the picture disappearing and the tape counter not working. If you take the top off your 900 and with a flashlight look at the tape as it's being pulled by the pinch roller and capstan shaft. The tape should be nice and straight going in and coming out. You will probably see your pinch roller is deflecting the tape away from the ACE head. You need to replace your pinch roller (very cheap) and your problem will be solved.I bought a SL-HF-400 off of a guy on e-bay 4 years ago who in his discription said it wouldn't play L-750 tapes but would play L500's.Having seen this problem on Sony Beta's before I knew what the problem was. I got the 400 cheap and replaced the cupped pinch roller---- problem solved! I've seen this on 300's,400's,450's and on SL60 so as you can see it's a common problem. The pinch roller on Sony Betas are fairly easy to replace but if your unsure just what to do better let someone who's familar with this kind of stuff do the job.

For all those Betamax Fan - just like me :-) oh I'm a Video 2000 fan too :-OI can transfer video footage from Betamax onto VHS or CD r at cost price plus second class post is well in the reach of many Betamax / Video 2000 fan who may not be so well off. At least this way I provide the rare chance of those who at one time in the past owned a Betamax / Video 2000 machine can transfer video footage for less than £ 2 a tape, - not everyone wants to pay through the roof transfer the odd favorite movie from the 80's. I can copy your Betamax / Video 2000 archive tapes onto VHS in either LP or SP. I live in the Sheffield area - the cost will be £ 2 a tape Plus Postage which is very low indeed but I prefer to keep the cost down to cover just the Cost Price ! I can if you prefer transfer your videos onto CD r to play on Computer using DivX / Xvid format this is a cheap alternative to keep cost down with regard to postage and replacement VHS tapes. Eight Hours can be transfered onto CD in very good Quality & the cost is £1 including Postage. Others on this website provide a different service copying onto DVD in very high quality but it depends on what you want & high much you want to pay - if you have a lot of tapes to transfer then maybe my option will best for you, but even if you only have the odd tape then this is excellent value.

Paul;At last about the Play no Picture problem.One thing that you should know that is your Rotary Disk 'Eyes' is still in working Range (not worn out). Some thechnician knows the trick to have worn out Heads Assy works good by strengthen the tape tension, this will make the tape READABLE by the wornout Rotary Heads 'Eyes'.But when it reaches those limitations SysCon chips detects then cuts of the SequenceI put my bet on this kind of TRICK.☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;☺;
cc:NillsSorry I should say HF-900Paul,I take Nills saying problems on ACE Amplifier , but I strongly suspect something not in order on SysCon Block since it works on X2 and shuttle .There might be component failure/worn out, if there's none then all you got to do is RECALIBRATING. I got 1/5 malfuntion on 950 (PAL) last time, I'd changed the 4,7mF Electrolit and only costs few penny. It might not be the same caps on 900.This capasitors problem found on most Betamaxes esp 950 series in 1/5 speed.
About the PLay No PIC problem I agree with Nills and those all steps Controlled by SysCon CHIP block circuits.Find something there if you know what you're doing.
On jaming tape problem ;I got one new Tape that can't passed loading mechs on HF95D but OK on all other. When I measure the flap It is longer than other's.It's a productions defect.
sony slhf 950 for sale here in nz, this is the problem, [Note: this one does have a habit of jamming the tape sometimes while ejecting, (should be easy to fix). is this a big problem?? thanks martin.
I do have the SL-HF900 (NTSC). I checked the tape edges. Two of the tapes have ridging alog the top end and two don't. I cleaned the ACE heads again but this did not help. As I said in an earlier entry, these tapes do play on my SL-100 and a friends 860D. They were taped on different machines and are different brands. Most tapes do play okay on my SL-HF900. The counter reads as follows: Play(no picture)-no, FF and REW-Yes(but does seem to skip at times), X2-Yes, X1/5-No, Moving with shuttle-Yes.
SL-HFT7@t_e_l_u_s_.net
(from Vancouver) Paul, look for creased edges on the tape. If the tape rides high or low (due to a bent guide) it will get creased. Then the ACE head will not read the control timing pulses along the creased edge. Fast Forward might ride the tape to a better reading height. If the tape looks ok then clean the ACE head with ethanol. Ok to wipe ACE head vertically but NEVER NEVER wipe video heads vertically!!! If still no change, either ACE head is defective or its amplifier is most likely suspect.
Boby, I suspect Paul has the SL-HF900 (NTSC) not the SL-HF950 linear skate loader (PAL).
I wouldn't FastFoward sticky tapes if I were you.I red your previous post stated that your 950 choose wich tape that she like to play with. From what I know there's one adjustment to let any tape to play, but if you change it you will loose the auto protection of your Beta.I do not recomend unles you have Sony Adjustment Tape and know what you're doing. There's one in Ebay last time, the price is outrageous.Adjusting might not solved the problem.
(dont read my previous post)
Paul; No wonder your English is strange to me. Allright then , I was just sayin' that you might have Digital Camera to have your 900 Boards piture sent to me. You know..for making me easy to help/diagnose the problem.
So the counter counts or not when you increase the speed (FF/Rew) ?How about the slow motion? Jog? Shuttle? As I said before don't do any if you're not sure. Now I know you got two 950.
