THANX
TO STEVE LEWIS - I cannot reply to your email. An error keeps occuring. Please mail me again and confirm your email address
I presume that Dylan Lewis is lowering the tone of this web site, by calling me a crude name. Please keep this kind of vocabulary down under. Yes this is an analogue PAL BETAMAX web site. I have two machines myself. How many have you got Dylan and as DVD is not very popular in Australia, have you seen how good it is? As I said in my chat message on the 6/11/99, any format (tape or disc) that is not treated with respect, for example being left on the floor for several days without it's protective case, will be at risk of becoming damaged.
I agree that this web site is often having chat communications about DVD and other none related subjects. I was responding to someone else's comments on this format, and even though I did not agree with these, I did not resort to being abusive to that person. I believe in freedom of speech and that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.
So as Dylan said, lets in future have "Chats" about Betamax video in future; No more DVD debates, questions on how to fix VHS VCR's etc. and most import of all, lets be polite to each other. It is also supposed to be Pal site, but I do not mind reading about the popularity of Betamax in other countries.
i have access to two (2) sony sl 7200 decks. i am told that they may be collectors items! any one have any info on value of them i would be happy to hear from you! the machines are supposed to work but they are kinda dusty! thanks for any help!
Problem with Orion vhs deck - BUY BETA.
Sony stuff
Well I have an SL-HF950 and an SL-F1UB, just bought a Sony Home Cinema Amplifier STR-DB930, and my DVD player DVP-S715 has no lipsync problems at all.
I have a 32" IDTV on order, should be good, and I am picking up a centre speaker on Tuesday.
My Sanyo VTC-M40 is still going well!
One more thing about Laser Disc and DVD - a lot of earlyish adopters went that way due to vhs killing off the Beta prerecorded market. The amount of DVD owners who have Beta is very surprising, most are HiFi, quite a few have 950s.
Well I need my W/S TV as I have copied some rental discs in anamorphic Super Beta - should be fun!
My wife never came across Beta until she met me! She really likes using the 950 as it's such a good machine.
For those lookng for PAL betamovie I checked with that Absolute Beta site I've mentioned a few times and they definatly DON'T have PAL movies. I see the Y/C fracas has turned ugly now with 4-letter words and everything. Before gunplay is involved let's everybody peace out man. That's how VHS won. . .speaking of which I just order another SL-2000 with 30 extra tapes thrown in off of E-bay which means after 5 years I'll have finally achieved Beta superiority (I hope) in tapes and equipment in my household.
SORRY! I just think that since DVD doesn't have RECORDING technology, that it won't last long until they have it! I think BETA is the best, and I think that it always will be! I have seen DVD in action: To get the best quality, though, you probably need a HDTV or a flat LCD screen! I think that DVD has an almost EQUAL picture in BETA! I will not buy DVD as long as I can copy the movies I buy or rent to BETA and get far better pictures!
P.S. NO arguement people, but no matter how much care I give my MUSIC CDs, (i.e. cleaning them, storing them properly in their cases, etc.) They WILL skip in a while--And not all people will take care of their DVDs, so when the CDs THEY have skip, as well as 100 thousand more people that don't take care of Discs, they will not last. If you have noticed--TAPES can go through a bad place as a dropout, etc., but if a CD does the same thing, though, it will "STICK" in that place!
I've been watching the debate DVD etc. I own a SlHf950 and various other betas including a full F1 system with PCM. This discussion could go on forever! I mean, PCM I love it. £ hours of digital music on a tape. But I have freinds who own Mini disc, recordable CD and one has an 8mm with built in PCM. Whats best? its down to individual choice. I love the 950 some love the C9 etc, You only have to look at the regular voting on this site for favourite VCR. I am also a long term Laserdisc collector, but this has not stopped me from buying a DVD. Recently I have been enjoying adding to my laserdisc collection with software bargains - Titanic, Toy soldier etc for £5 each. I think th
I will no longer insult DVD--but one question: LASER DISC was once popular, but it went out too! I will only talk about BETA, as steve reccomended. I am sorry for causing the DVD DEBATE!
(Sorry pressed wrong button) - I think that DVD is a great format for watching pre-recorded films. I will not rent a VHS out when I can watch Widescreen DVD with all the extras, even no rewinding is better. Final verdict - Anythings got to be good that puts a nail in the VHS coffin! ps - How about a combined DVD and superbeta model?.
Can anybody help me with a fault on an SL-C9UB. When you switch the machine from Standby to operate the silly machine interprets this as an eject command and spits out the tape. Not the end of world as I just reload the tape and carry on. The real drag is with timer recordings because the machine performs the same trick at the set start time. Obviously there is nobody there to reload the tape and so I miss the recording. Please can someone help for the sake of my sanity.
I forgot to mention the fact that I desperately need to purchase an HF-950 but haven't found where these machines may be obtained. Can anybody tell me where I can get one - second hand obviously.
In 1986 we bought a PCM301 SONY together with a betamax recorder. For years we made audiorecordings with this wonderful machines. Now of course we are also working with computers. My question is: is there a possibility to read in a PCM modulated video-signal into my computer via a video capture-card and to convert this into a wav-file? Is there software or do I need drivers for an existing sound-editing-system? It would really be perfect to convert this old recordings digitally into newer standards!
I have a SL-2500 Sony betamax that has sort of a problem, When I playa movie you will see flickering lines off a bright object, like thecredits at the end of a movie, You will see flickering lines in thewhite of the credits or if there is a neon light in the movie you will see flickering off the neon light, I think this is a video head problem, I don't know if it needs a real good cleaning or if the the heads need to be replaced, I tryed using the head cleaner over and over again, And also you know when vcrs play over a dirty part of a tape and the picture will become white fuz for a while, This one does that alot to, right out of the blue without going over a bad part of a tape, Can any body out there let me know what to do to fix thisproblem. E-mail me.
Thankyou, And keep those betamaxes runing forever, We need a new Betamax with all the features that VHS has today.
Okey, i'm not going to cause anymore problems here, sorry steve.Yes, I have seen DVD in action but I still don't think the quality is all its cracked up to be and I think it has a large chance of failing in Australia, here people don't seem to care about the quality of viewing and live on the basis of "As long as I can see it and here it I don't care"(me not being one of these people,If a picture is not perfect in every way I will be quite frustrated and angry)I have only one Beta deck, It is a early model SL-HIFI 950 which my aunt has had since it was first released, she gave it to me and since then it has had a extreme amount of use(at the moment it is being repaired and serviced, the machine was jamming in record and play modes and chewing the tape)I will no longer talk about DVD as long as no one else says something that makes me angry eg paying out people who prefer tape to cd.Sorry about the VHS question but it is very frustrating to have a machine with the problem it has(I blame my self,my next vcr will be another Beta!) I hope this clears things up a little. Dylan.
hey beta peoplei just bought a Sanyo VTC-5000 machine (pretty beat up)and a good batch of factory movie tapes i am willing to sell/trade.if interested i will send you a list....
thanx bump
Ok so I am being moaned at.
To Andy Benham, so you WANT vhs, I am asking what use are they? Also with Digital TV what are going to tape it with?
Out of the top 5 UK Beta decks I don't own a C9, so on weight of PAL Beta decks hold off the critisism
Sony SLHF950, Sony SLHF100P, Sony SLF1UB, Sanyo VTC-M40, Sanyo VTC6500, and a broken F1 for spares
I think that modern usage of Beta is an important subject to discuss. I think it is very interesting to find no apparent differences between line OnDigital pay channel and a SLHF950 recording of it.
Where should I post messages about 950 picture quality, proposed Scart and Y/C modifications of the same deck?
There are not many of use who are tryng to improve their decks
Anybody know where I can get some info on a Beta vs. VHS comparison? I'm interested in cassette sizes, performance, price comparisons, etc. Thank you in advance for any help. Regards, Tom.

By Andy Benham, I assume you mean me. (My email address does not comtain my name in any way!) Betamax WAS the ultimate format in VCR history, but please don't get to 'die hard,' about it, most of the machines are nearly 20 y.o, and at the end of the day, sadly, Betamax is dead! It died 15 years ago. I am not saying VHS is good, give me Betamax anyday. But let the subject go about modifing them. Anyway TiVo came out last week, record from you substandard digital service on that (get a life-get sky!) About the NTSC postings, admitldly this is a P.A.L. page, but it also a Betamax PAL page, not a VHS OnDigital page!!Thanx

HI Tom:There is a lot of info at http://popadom.freeserve.co.uk
Martin Lumber... Recording of PPV films on OnDigital is illeagal!! (I know, you will say 'so!') Get a Macro knock-out box, these cost £40, and you can tape to VHS, and TiVO. There kis little modern use of betamax, sadly!!
[email protected]?subject@Martin Lumber'
Sorry Tom.......
Blind link (sorry) It should be......
http://www.popadom.freeserve.co.uk then goto the museam! Sorry!
You can convert PCM recordings to the current digital format by using a Sony PCM 601. Then load into the computer through the SPDIF input on the soundcard.
It think where you want to go is >>----> http://www.popadom.demon.co.uk/vidhist/mainhall.htm <----<<. Thats the address for the Total Rewind virtual museum of videography. Both of the other links are dead ends.
SLHF1000 FOR SALE: MINT CONDITION BUT NO REMOTE... Original manual and box and display material but no remote... Great working condition! Cosmetics are 10 out of 10... Asking $750... buyer pays shipping...
If you ever wondered what the geniuses who design VCR manuals and software instruction leaflets do on their holidays, well now you know... They design ballots for the state of Florida. Just goes to show that graphic design matters.
I have a small collection of taped movies. All great quality and all in great condition.e-mail me for more info.
As all my Beta machines are Macrovision proof I won't need a knock out box.
When you have three small children the ability to record a film is essential.
I'm waiting for a DTTV hard disk recorder, ITV is quite important to me (but not as important as BBC<g>)
Apart from a Hard Disk recorder or a working DVD recorder, I can't think of anything to replace my 950.
vhs too crap, svhs poor colours and clunky, Hi8 too short, DV £ 30 per tape!,
So I've decided to run Beta to the end of analogue tape.
But I'm concidering a MiniDV video camera as my HVC4000P is clapped out

DasImperator: Thanx for that, I knew what I meant!! Thanks for pointing Tom in the right direction!!

Have noticed teh interest in getting a Y?c output from the 950 and asked my tech if such a thing was possible and it appears as if it is not. The two signals are combined into video inside an IC and then this signal gets the character generator info added to it. The IC also boosts the level of the incoming Y and C levels since that which is being put into the IC is at a very low level which is not good enough for the Y / C that one gets on S-VHS or ED Beta decks. Also noticed that there are 3 wires coming from the video processor to the euro connector (SCART) one of which somehow interacts with the device the Euro connector is being attached to!

>>>>>>>>>Have anyone of you known of a format called "BETA S.P."? I was at a high schoolfootball game and noticed the news people from NEWS25 and CABLE CHANNEL 8using BETA! Yes you heard right, BETA!!! It is a thicker tape magnetide and only playsfor 20 minutes, but at least there are still BETA USERS!!! Just wanted to pass alongthat info!<<<<<<<
Yes indeed Nick. BetaCAM is a professional format invented by Sony which will be very familiar tomost Betaphiles and instantly recognised by anyone remotely involved with professional video orTV production. Watch carefully at any media scrum and you'll see dozens of them!
It's early manifestations shared the shell and tape with the then very current Betamax format, though the way the signal is recorded on the tape is completely different. The system yields fullbroadcast results and any TV viewer in the world has probably watched hundreds of hours ofBetacam material.
Beta SP is a development of that using metal tape and improved recording techniques. Thebetamax style cassette also has a 'big brother' ...a large size cassette which carries more tape forlonger programmes, generally used in studio recorders. There is also 'digibeta' ....a top flightbroadcast format which can trace it's pedigree right back to our beloved Betamax homerecorders... (and beyond)
A warning much repeated I know but since we're covering ground for our apparently less familiarbretheren please note that Beta SP tapes will fit into a Betamax recorder ...they will also wreck theheads since they are metal tapes and as such pretty abrasive! Oxide (non-SP) betacam tapes arefine though not quite ideal. If anyone has Beta SP tapes which they plan to use in a Betamaxrecorder DONT!

Found a sort-of use for a terminally broken SL-2000 VCR (Crack in the PC board) as a tape eraser and winder . Given that I have two others coming to me I don't think I'll bother about trying to get it serviced, though it probably could be. Can't wait to get my HVC-2200 hooked up to a VCR.
Say does anybody know what the "SL" and other letters in Sony model numbers stand for? I know the "O" in "SLO" stands for "Office" and, of course, "HF" is Hifi and I guess the "S" is Sony, but what about the "L"?
As (probably) the instigator of the 950 Y/C thing on this site, I am worried that Alan Morton may have confirmed my worst fear, that the separation simply does not take place internally to any usable extent.
If so, it will be extremely frustrating, as had "S-Beta" been implemented it could have given S-VHS a terminal headache, and the 950 could have been the machine to lead the carnage. Sorry Mark and Martin, but we may be heading for the end of the line. Does anybody have any contactsin the tech side of Sony?
RE: The SL in video names. I always assumed this meant meant "SLIM LINE".
Well Beta is making a comeback, in three current UK Video/Home Cinema magazines there have been questions about Beta. WV with SLF1 repairs, HE about Macrovision proof, and HCC about 950 repair costs.
Come on Sony lets have a new Beta deck, I've spent a lot on your stuff in the last few years - how about some loyality.
Fit it with a FTA DTTV tuner, just remember we can watch better quality filoms on new kit but DV for off air taping is too expensive.
It is your own fault for making a better format than vhs.
Beta rentals - haven't seen any in 10 years.
I had to skip a C6 earlier this year.
My 2 HiFi decks are going well.
Hi Can anyone tell me the maximum play time of both tapedecksand camcorders. Are there special cassettes for camcorders ?Thank you, Michael.
Re: The "SL" in Sony product names. The guy who suggested "Slim Line" may not have been to far off the mark. Perhaps it actually stands for "Sony Line".I'd never thought of that. If there's any Sony folks out there. . . .
As for maximum record time on Decks and Camcorders figure that for PAL and BII speed(North American) you'd get about 1 hour for every 250 inches of tape. BI speed required 500 inches of tape per hour and BIII required only 125 inches per hour. The most common tape lenghts are L-500 and L-750. (Max 3- 4 hours respectively). Extended length taoes like the L-830 and the L-1000 are out there but they're rare and recommended only for the BIII speed because of their thinness make them susceptable to stretching at higher speeds. But in theory you could get 6 hours out of a Beta tape.
Sony Camcorders, even PAL ones, ran at the BII speed only, giving you 3 hours on an L-750 tape.
Oh by the way, Camcorders used the same Beta tape as the VCRs. There wasn't any need for an adapter like VHS-c and despite what many people seem to think no adapter will let you play Beta tapes on a VHS VCR. (unless of course, you consider a Beta VCR hooked up to a VHS's in-ports an adapter ;o) )
For those people in Metric-land who don't know from feet fromr inches, an L-750 tape has about 222 meters in tape in it.
I also have to own up to a gaffe on my part. That figure of 250 inches per hour should be 250 feet per hour - Du'oh!
Hi Everyone......I have a large collection of "Pre-Recorded Adult Tapes" for sale.....like to sell the whole collection......any idea's....Thank You
"Pre-Recorded Adult Tapes" for sale (BETA).....like to sell the whole collection......any idea's.... Thank You
If Sony can't repair your VCR, don't give up. I took my SL-HF2100 into their San Bruno, California service center for a complete overhaul last year (October 1999). Sony told me one part was "no longer available" so the unit was returned unrepaired. Through a chat group like this one I learned Sony does occasionally restock, so last month I took my 2100 back to them. They fixed it! It works beautifully. It wasn't cheap. $257(US)is their one-price-fixes-all for high-end machines. Any other 2100 owners out there?
HiI am looking for a Sony C9 video UK spec, if anyone has one for sale working or not working please contact me.thanksSam
Can anybudy tell me where I can buy the old beta movies. I have an old player and feel the picture quality is so much better than VHS
Hello everybody, this is the first time I have visited this site - I got to know of it thru the kindness of a chap named Steve Hanley who phoned me from Sheffield after I had put an advert in 'Television' magazine - thanks Steve.
I have two Sanyo VCR 5000 Betamax machines available for sale and a Toshiba VR8600, all need attention, but I have the manual for the Sanyo machines but not the Toshiba. I want to get rid of these machines for space reasons so any offers from anyone out there - I can repair the Sanyo's and probably the Toshiba, but obviously they will be more expensive and I am quite willing to sell all three for spares. All are complete in every way.
I also have Betamax boxed films and Betamax tapes, neither type are new but all are in good condition, I do not have a list of the films but they are wide ranging. Any offers for about 20 Films and 20 tapes.
I also have two Plilips 2020 machines, neither are working and both need a fair bit of attention so they are ideal for spares since they are complete in every way, but have a variety of faults and I do not have an extender board to work on the PCBs but I do have a manual. Any interest or offers. Thanks for getting in touch if you are interested.

over and out
SLO1700P VCRs still available to those of you who would like to own a seriously professional Betamax deck.
Stuart: If you look on the power supply board, you'll see a big-ish resistor with two electrolytic capacitors above it. These dry out, causing the streaks. Just change them both and you should be away.
Now my own problem: I have a Sanyo VTC6500 which works well, except I can't get drum or capstan lock in forward or reverse picture search. Any ideas??

Hi all. Recently I was the lucky purchaser of an AG-400 betastack changer for my North American NTSC SL-2500 VCR. Problem is the changer unit arrived with no instruction manual, and I think it's also missing some screws, nuts, bolts, etc., that is needed to mount the AG-400 to the SL-2500. If anyone has the instruction manual for the AG-400 and would be willing to make a photocopy for me, I'll be happy to pay for the photocopy charge and mailing fee. Thanks. Howard

Some Techie notes;
I recently acquired an SL-2000 portable with the TT-2000 tuner (that's an SL-F1 to you PAL users) and noticed a curious "defect" in that at some point in it's life the fuse that controls the battery had blown out, meaning that you could power the unit from the tuner and from the DC in-port but you couldn't work from the battery. So anyone out there with SL-2000 battery that you think is dead might want to check the VCR. The fuse in question is located under a small "daughterboard" containing color control circuitry next to a sheilded metal componant box. You should also look for three wires leading from the battery circuit bus (that connects the battery box leads to the board) to a point near the fuse in question. For some reason a bit of paint was daubed over the fuse glass so you'll havew a bit of a trouble being able to see it. Since this fuse must be soldered-in to replace you might wish to consider the risk of simply replacing it with a heavy guage wire lead instead. (I did that for a BMC-220 and it had no power-related problems for the rest of it's service life)
This unit also had the distinction of having the "Swing Search" controls labeled as "Videola" controls. The Moviola makers sued Sony for trademark infringement and Sony renamed that feature. I wonder if there's any enhanced value to that name distinction.
I also notice on the Tuner unit a switch setting for "Heater". Any ideas on what that is for? Any ideas about a mystery plug I found behind a panel in back of the tuner module? I didn't get a manual with this and I'm somewhat mystified as to it's purpose.
There's also a PCM/Captions switch. Again- Huh?
I also acquired an SL-5400 from a Texas college (it still had the "property of University of Houston" tag on it). It works fine except for a filthy video head (cleaned) stuck timer buttons (I'm not going to risk ruining permanently by fixing) and the inability to full rewind tapes (fixed with quick going over of the rubber idler with an emory board). It seems to have taken some abuse by the students using it over the (20!) years(some dings, dents and missing trim) ,and someone actually replaced (rather badly) the RCA-style video out jack with a BNC jack. Still a nice machine for my "collection". It'll probably bee like some of the guitars in Spinal Tap's collection that never get played "No don't even look at it!" ;o)
Hy guys,
I just recently moved from France to UK and I took with me my TV. Over here, I found out that the two contries uses different frequencies for the sound, so my TV would need a new sound filter. In France they are using (I think) PAL A (sound on 5-5.5Ghz) and in UK PAL B (sound on 6Ghz). The guy who helps me, said that he needs the circuit digram in order to do something.
So, Please, is there somebody knowing where I can find the circut diagram for a GRANDIN DUO 3600 (has all the parts from LG - GoldStar) made in Koreea, late last year (december'99 I think)Thanks
I am desperately seeking a Sony Betamax video player. Any ideas? Thanks!
Help - I have a Beta system w/tapes that I would like to copy over to either VHS or DVD (to preserve) - how do I do this (hook-up, equipmwent required, etc.). Thanks for the help - if this is posible.
Bobby, you have four choices, you can try any of the four, or try them in combination, which is what I would recommend:
1. Visit your local Sony dealer, and request (beg?) that they special order you a Sony SL-HF2000 SuperBeta Hi-Hi VCR. There may still be a few units left in Sony USA warehouses. Be prepared, though, as the local Sony dealer may ask that you produce photographic proof that you have a large existing Beta tape collection before they will even attempt to special order you one (I'm not making this up, my local Sony dealer asked for just such evidence when I brought up the subject; seems like Sony USA is asking for that photo evidence before they will release an SL-HF2000 to a dealer). Also be prepared to shell out about 800 American dollars for a new machine.
2. Advertise in local newspaper classified ads that you are looking for a Beta VCR, and also keep an eye out in the classifieds for people selling their Betas; you never know...
3. Do as I do and pound the pavement and visit all the TV/VCR repair shops in your city or region, and also while you're traveling in other cities on business, vacations, etc. I have been doing this for several years now, and have so far found an SL-HF450, SL-2300, and an SL-10.
4. Do the Internet thing and bid for them on ebay, Amazon.com, and other internet auction sites; just remember to caveat emptor, and be prepared to pay serious money for some of those machines.
Good luck with your Betaquest. Howard

I would like to know what a Sony V5000 Pal is worth today? Bought in 1990 used for three church ceremonies and stored away since then as we use NTSC in Canada. The machine is in EXCELLENT condition with original hard case and all accessories. Also have the V200 which is in very good condition but has been used a lot more. By the way I also do love the Betamax machines because of their superior picture and all the extra plug ins that one can use. I have the C9 but no good here in Canada. Thank you
G'day all, I have a fault on a Sony SLC40 -ES that I wonder if anyone can help with.
I know the video heads are worn and due for replacement but the fault has to do with the audio side of it.All seems OK for the first 20 -30 minutes of playback, then the soundtrack from the previously recorded program, (before the current program was recorded over it), will be played while the video from the latest program is displayed. After about another 20 minutes the audio will revert to the correct program, another 10-20 minutes and the previous soundtrack is back, (different tapes have been tried).
If the erase head was playing up I would expect the video to be similarly affected or for both soundtracks to be heard at once.
Can someone confirm that the video heads also record the audio tracks, (in which case I don't understand why I wouldn't just get a blank audio signal since the previous should have been erased) ?
Or, is it recorded by what seems to be the audio pickup head just after the drum in the tape path, (in which case, shouldn't I still just get a blank audio if the tape has been erased) ?
Thanks for any help,Dave
Hello. I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help with. I just gota Sony SL-HF860D, but it has a problem with the capstan. When I hitplay the capstan motor won't start on it's own, but if I turn it byhand to start it, it will go. But, when it does go, it doesn't stayat a constant speed; the picture goes in and out of tracking, andthe linear sound warbles. I tried replacing the electrolyticcapacitors on the capstan motor board, and on the motor drive circuit.I also tried adjusting the free spin pot, but that didn't help either. Is this a common problem with this model? Any suggestions on how tofix it? If I do need a capstan motor, any idea where to get onecheaply? Thanks for your help! You can email me at [email protected]
Hey people, long time no talk(ha ha)I just want to know three things:1. how long are the heads on a slhi-fi 950 supposed to last? mine is 15 years old and just had its first service because the wind roller was out of alignment. The man who repaired it said that there are no signs of head wear, is that a bit unusual?
2. Are pre-recorded beta movies worth anything yet? I have Terminator and The Wizard Of Oz and some thing Called The Last Of Sheila which is on a L500 which temps me to record over it.
3. Does anyone think that Macrovision will consider trying to develop a way to stop us beta lovers from copying their beloved encoded VHS movies?
Details of head life etc can be found at http://www.palsite.co.uk/maintain.htmlBut remember those figures don't account for 10 years storage in your garage:)
To Alan Morton - I harbour no hard feelings for dashing our Y/C hopes, you had to tell it like it is! I had a thought about the 3rd lead you discovered in the SCART - does it send a control voltage to switch a TV set from tuner to video input as happens in some VHS VCRs? Pin 8 I think from memory.
What level of service does your local repair shop provide for Betamax?

Does anyone know anything about a "mystery plug" I found hiding behind a screwed-shut panel in the back of the TT-2000 Tuner Timer unit? I'm just dying to know what it's there for. I also see a three way switch for the remote and the "Heater". What heater? There's a heater?
Can you still buy the carry staps that attach to the SL-2000 new? Are they a universal design or was it just something exclusive to Sony. I want to get a backup for mine.
I was wondering if I were to start a chat page for owners of portable video systems like the SL-2000, 3000, and SL-F1 esp. those who use them with as a video camera outfit would there be any interest.
