Mike: If you're referring to the Japanese-domestic models, the only drawbacks are that the tuner won't work right in the US (it's NTSC, but different channel layout) and they run on 100V instead of 110-120. You'd just need to use a stepdown transformer to operate the deck safely and use the A/V's for recording & playback.
Actually, with modern power supplies, the difference between 100 and 120 volts is not such a big deal as it once was. Here in Korea, we have a LOT of Japanese domestic equipment designed to run on 100 volts, and everyone just plugs it into the 110-120V step downs that they use to run all the US built stuff that sells here. I have a Japanese built audio mixer that I use all the time, power supply doesn't even run all that warm, let alone hot. YMMV.
Awww! "The little Japanese lady over in testing!!!" Hahaha..... What a cute quote. Well, why couldn't have Apple have made the plastic on the white iBook a lot more scratch resistant. Darn... I have to practically keep it wrapped up in a soft cloth so it doesn't scuff up any more than it already is.. Oh well. How about an iBeta.. :)
Imacs were designed with function follows form. You want a good Mac, get a G4, or whatever the advancement of that line is. The big tower-type computers. Stay away from anything with the "i" moniker, they are a sort of worthless "peoples computer for the computer inept." THe G4 is actually a nice machine, having used one and read reviews of it by PC magazines! If you want a mac, it is clearly the way to go. VERY easy to use and work on.What would be an "iBeta?" sort of like an EZ-Beta? Someone called a $650 SL-HF-750 a Sony EZ Divorce. That was funny!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1377792845Gary's prices range from decent to outrageous. this is certanly the outrageous end. if it were in perfect shape, yeah, I'd go for it. He obviously knows something about his subject, (Unlike the snail, who seems to plagiarize all his knowledge form the Infoguide) and if he can't easily deal with it, it may be cause to worry...
Mashilo (Southern Africa): Tried a private note but your netscape mailbox seems full. A service manual for a Sony XV-C700 color corrector is on eBay right now. Hope this can help. Quite often manufacturers include pages from the user manual near the front of the service manual.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1377920863
Bidding on the Sony EZ-Divorce wasn't funny that week.
it's a KX-P4420
I got an E-mail from that Fort Worth Reporter. Answered a few questions by E-mail. Yadda yadda yadda...
I'm amazed anyone besides us snails is taking an interest in the end of Beta VCR production.
Ok BETA Buffs... I'm going to sell my Sanyo Model VCR 4400 unit with 6 blank cassettes. Everyting is in PRIMO condition. There is no remote or manual and the only physical defect is the little door on the lower right is missing a hinge, but still holds in place beautifully. Other than that, the unit is in PRIMO condition, I've used it myself several times, much to my delight as to the quality, but I can't see keeping it as I have a VHS and DVD and make VCD's as part of my living. SO.... I'll sell the whole lot for $50, plus the buyer paying for S&H plus $5 handling(all in US dollars). If anyone is interested, drop me an !!!EMAIL!!! If I don't get any interests by the weekend, I'll throw it up on Ebay. Thanks a heap for all your help.
Joe
Well! Just bought my Lasermie a new disc. Now that I can afford to feed it.. LOL! Im amazed that snail goo hasnt built up and slowed it down to where it doesnt read. It plays perfectly after being dormant for a week. No. An iBeta would be a beta that looked Apple-designed. The corners of the machine would be rounded.. and the case would be clear plastic. :) It would look a lot like a G4 tower... with a glowing ß on each side!! :) :) :)
A "Lasermie"???? "Betamie" made sense, a shortening of "Betamovie" but "Lasermie" just rubs me the wrong way... don't ask why.
Sean
and my little iBook is not a dumbed-down Mac. It runs just perfectly.. And WHY couldn't Betas or any other consumer VTR had THIS kind of display!! :)
http://www.dupespec.com/ebay/dii.jpg
would reeeeally like to see a BVU-800 or GCS-50 type VTR with that kind of display.. Only it would be brighter.. and white instead of green.
Fuh? Why white? that would be nice, though. I do not know what kind of display my BR-S611U has, but I think it is this type. My TBC came and I am figguring it out. It is hard to hook up!

For you guys who mentioned your positive experiences with Panasonic equipment, I was just pointing out that my PV-VS4821 is a shoddy machine. My PV-9451 is an excellent (for a VHS) machine had has had no problems in 4 years. My current VCR list is quite long: VHS: Sony SLV-751HF, Panasonic PV-9451, Sanyo VHR-1250, RCA VJP-900, NEC N901BU, Zenith TVBR1302Y. S-VHS: Panasonic PV-VS4821. Beta: Sony SL-HF600, Sanyo VCR-4027, 4030 and 4650. Whew!
My Beta collection is a crosssection of different brands and models. I have the following: 2 SL-HF-400's , 3 SL-HF-300's,2 SL-100's,1 SL-5400,1 SL-330,1 VCR-7200 Sanyo, 1 VCR4500 Sanyo, 2 5306 Sears top loads,1 VM-411 and 1 VM521 Toshiba models. Also have a VS-36 Stereo Toshiba. I have a Zenith 8510 and a Sony SL-60 4 head.Last but not least is my trusty ole VM-40 Toshiba that just keeps going on and on.All my Beta's are in perfect working order . Some of these I have had since they were new but the majority of them I just purchased locally over the years from people who just wanted to get rid of them.
Oh yeah, I bought the SL-60 And one of the Sony 400's off of PEPSE.Thanks
Sean, that heavy old KX-P4420 is totally unrelated to the 4410 or 4430. It is a very tough hombre except for one weak solder joint in the power supply that frequently causes bogus E31 codes. Toner is cheap but image drum needs replacement every 18,000 pages. Output is 300 dpi at best, so downloaded supermodel photo printouts look like VHS paused at the slowest speed using Maxell Silver T160 (ugh). Nice curbside scoop!
Oh, sure, I'm gone for about 3 weeks and people start talking about me. LOL Seriously I've been working on my Linux box and haven't had the time for much else. If anybody else mewntioned my name for something rerun your comments and I will reply. I'd hate to find out how may pages back I'd hafta go to catch up. Well, at least it don't seem like the snail is part of our crowd. WHEW! (Had bad thoughts that yous invited him to our fine establishment and got all google-eyed and what-not. LLOL) Anyway the other reason I am posting is to mention that stopped at my 2 thrift stores Thurs. (Vinny's and Goodwill) and lo and behold at Goodwill there was a Sony SL-HF 450 just smilin' and winkin' at me. Well, I told my wife to give me the $10 bux for it and I bought it and had to suffer thru work and a stop at the bar thereafter and then I finally got home and plugged it in and everything lites up, so I set the clock and got a cheap pushon RF cable and hooked it to my 3-way selector and put in a tape; FF then REW then play----works real good. I think it could use a cleaning as when I paused it on a tape recorded in BIII there are some noticeable snow bars and when I put in a pre-rec tape (BII) the snow bars were pretty wide. Of course this could be normal with a 2 head; I'm very much use to my HF750, excellent, clear, pause. Funny thing tho, with the BIII tape I was able to use the 1/5 and 1/10 effects but those wouldn't work on the BII tape. Normal?? or just that it needs a cleaning?? Well no big matter as I seem to have a good copying deck so once I check to make sure the tuner and record function work I can sell my Toshiba xxxx?? mono deck to someone in need or whatever. Cosmetically this unit (Sony) is very clean. No remote, no manual but that's OK. I'm sure my RMT-V373 remote will cover most, if not all, functions. Heck even if the tuner is crap I still have a good copying deck, being HI-FI SuperBeta.. Not to belittle the Toshiba but it is/was a "In case of emergency break glass" type deck.
Later. Pepse.
Oh yeah, in the 2 1/2 years this Goodwill has been open it is the first time they've had a Beta deck, whereas in the 15+ years of going to Vinny's they've never had a Beta deck.
The SL-HF 450's design was typical of brilliant Sony thinking...
"Lets see people for the most part are gonna rent tapes and they mostly are recorded at the BII setting. Furthermore all of the Betamovie tapes are recorded at BII...
"I know! Let's have the Slo-mo and other trick play features work only on tapes recorded in BIII...
And so they built the SL-HF 450 and a few other models so that only tapes recorded in the BIII speed would be allowed to use the slo-mo and trick play features.
"Oh and by the way, let's design the tuner so that it can't get cable channels 37 to 63 or something like that. After all tuner cans cost next to nothing, so why try and get a good one?
"And while we're at it.. It's too much trouble. Let's discontinue Beta altogether and just go with that other format... what was it called again? Oh yeah... VHS!"
Speaking of which...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1379278628
A National Geographic tape about the National Parks system: note how they didn't bother to print a label shaped for a Beta tape's label window and just slapped a VHS label on it instead...

Hey guys, I have got heaps of emails asking where and when my new page will be up so for now here is the new addy, I will be putting stuff up soon, including some umatic stuff, hi8 stuff, some CRT projectors and editing with a pair of HF950 's and an edit controller.http: http://www.betahifi.com
Please send me a small pic of your collection (less than 200 KB) as I would like to start up a "this is my betamax" page, like they have on the Japanese site.
Any ideas for content would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I have recently come by a number of ex-rental Betamax machines that have been stored since the 80's. The machines are Sanyo VTC 5000 series machines and will be fully refurbished/tested before sale and will cost between £29-£39 each + Delivery. Each machine will come complete with TV lead an instruction manual if available.
In addition I have a number of Sanyo, Sony and Toshiba machines that I'm breaking for spares (Or selling as complete non-workers). I can obtain *LIMITED* new spares for various antique Beta and VHS machines.
If anyone needs a refurb machine or maybe spare parts I can be contacted at: [email protected]
Regards
Dave H
Greetings from a Yank who has a Sony Beta VCR that I don't use anymore. It's a SL -5200, which is a NTSC model, designed for use here Stateside. It's in good condition, probably will need belts and idlers replaced, since it's been several years since I have even plugged it in. I have a Sony remote control, not the one that matches the SL 5200, but one that will work all the transport functions. I'd like to turn this guy into some cash. Any interest in a NTSC machine?
Ask a silly question. "say, does anyone herer want an NTSC Beta HiFi"?? I'm certain you're going to have some interrest in that machine. Actually I would be interrested in i if I hadn't just bought the industrial version.
Sean
To Andy W. - I have to agree with you that Panasonic's current consumerS-VHS machines leave a lot to be desired. I bought an earlier model, Ithink it was a PV-4820 - and it also was a worthless piece of junk. Ifyou can afford it, I would personally go with the Panasonic "Pro Line" VCRs. I have two AG-1980s in my studio that I bought at least four or five years ago; and they both work flawlessly. In fact, the only serviceI've ever had done was installing a new pich roller on each. I'm currentlylooking to buy a third AG-1980 for home use, as my professional video dealer says that Panasonic may stop making them soon. It will probably bethe last VHS or S-VHS VCR I buy, as I'm currently moving over to record-able DVDs - which I can record in 4:3 or 16:9 mode.
What happened to some of the entries in the condolance book? Was there some limit to how many commenst get to stay? I noticed mine and a few others got cut out. I know a couple might've been 'offensive' but I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything out of line in mine.
Condolance book? What condolance book?

And no, I don't have a recorder to use that camera with. Anyone want to donate an SL-2000 for my testing? Ha ha. Well so but anyway, I think the case he mentions in that camera is the one tha is big and square and it makes you look like an ENG person.
What am I, diseased? I post and then everyone is quiet for hours! Ah well.
If you can get hold of an AC-220 SL-2000 Battery Charger/Power supply and a spare K-connector plug (PALsite has K-connector pinouts at http://www.palsite.com/kcon.html - they're good for PAL, SECAM and NTSC betas) you can build your own camera adapter like I did...
I posted pix of the results at http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/thebetamaxvideographer/lst?.dir=/AC-220+Conversion
My adapter allows the use the camera's stereo capability. I even have this oddball Radio Shack stereo electret microphone with split jacks that can plug into this camera. The mic heads are mounted to the battery case like snailie eyestalks so you can swing them apart (or together) for more (or less) stereo separation.
And yes PALsite has a condolance book at http://betamax.palsite.info/condolence/condolence.cgi?VIEW=View+Book
Be careful what you say as it may not stay...
I see now.
Your picture doesn't work.
I saw this and alsmots fell over.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1379306544
Yup, right.
Thanks for advice!Sean
My Beta list is as follows:SL-2000 + TT2000 (good working condition)BMC-220 Betamovie (2 bad batteries, zoom doesn't seem to work)SL-HFR70 + HFP200 (occasional freezing of the machine?, white flashes in playback and record)2 SL-100 (tricky loader on one, other one just arrived from an ebay purchase)Sanyo VCR6400 (works well, not as good a picture as the sony's)Sanyo VCR4400 (top loader, works well )Sanyo VCR4670 (broken belts, eats tapes)Toshiba VS36 (no rw/fw tuner broken, nice playback)
You actually have to be a member of The Betamax Videographer to see the pictures http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheBetamaxVideographer/ is the site's "front door"...
Let me know what you get in that big bin of Sony 'kibbles and bits' you won. I noticedd a few 'doubles' in the collection...
Yep. so did I. I am counting on a few cables for betamax. Maybe even one of the fabled adapters for the SL-2000 video oputputs. We will see.
Sean
Olive:
It wasnt a second Email address. I don't have one. should I just feed it gibberish (This works if you puit an "@" in there) or what?
I actually have one of those VCM-220 connectors and man if you can get one of those (and the SL-2000 they go with) they're really handy to have. Looking at it, I imagine that I could get some bits at Radio Shack (I think the multiconnector pin-bus is a stock part) and work up some 'homebrew' copies if anyone would be interested...
Just a random musing...
I got in to yahoo OKay. I can't wait to get the setup. I wonder what each part is. the whole thing is $15 WITH shipping, I could make a killing selling each part off for $5. I won't, orobably. I'm a selfish person!
I take it Yahoo wants a second E-mail address to spam before they'll deign to let you into their spamming system. Either sign up for Yahoo address or make one up.
If they ask you for your home address give them this one...
155 W. Cortland Street. NYC, NY 10048
I'll leave you to find it on a map...
I'm gonna make a wild guess and say that that is probably a big hole in the ground. correct me if I'm wrong, but they didn't ask me for an actual street adress. I entered my real email address a second time and got 7 confirmations. yikes.
Sean
Thirty-five years ago or so you could buy one of the first video tape recorders shipped to the east coast in New York City's 'radio district', where a lot of the electronics dealers had clustered. By the time Betamax had come out in '75 the area had been torn down and rebuilt for an urban renewal project...
Returning from the '67 Expo in Canada my grandparents made a side trip to a store at that address having a 'relocation' sale to get one of those 'newfangled' video camera outfits to 'videotape' an upcoming wedding...
What wasthe outfit? It must have been a SOny DV-2400 in that year... I'm almost certain. What became of it???
Sean
My only memories of the machine were watching Grampy transfering tapes to Beta back in 1979 or so - presumably prior to disposing of the reel-to-reel set. He died in the mid-90s and all that was left of his video collection is the SL-2000 outfit I got last April when my grandmother died because nobody else wanted the Beta stuff...

It always amazes me to hear people talk about thing that were happening around the time I was born. Not the big stuff like world events but ordinary family things like Olive sitting with her grandfather...
Personally I like to go through the National Geographics and other magazines that have "Hi-tech" ads like "Smithsonian" and see the state technology was in around the time I was born. fascinating. especially the christmas issues. The earlier it was, the less connected I feel. Drops off around the very late 70's, by the time I am reading volumes fro mthe 50's, I feel completely alienated... I once bought the entire year of National Geo's for the year I was born, much dissaponted to find the Oct. '83 cover was UGLY! I remeber seeing an add for a television that was also a speakerphone... But not a videophone. THAT would have been cool! Funny to think I am almost exactly as old a Beta HiFi (or was it Superbeta... came out in '83)
Look in the National Geographics of 1982. Like the issue with ®gypt and Napoleon. There's an SL-5000 ad with the catch phrase, "You can always spot a genius by it's features..."
I do not know if I have that issue. Is National Geographic the same in DE as stateside? Or do you have American issues? On the subject of germany, I remember that the comedian Dave Barry went to Germany, for vacation, and he couldn't figgure out the traffic signs, ("gee there sure are a lot of streets named "einbanstrausse" (He said it means "One-way-street) but, since, as he put it, most Germans speak better english than American High school students, he was able to get clear directions! (THat was more to make fun of american high school students, many of whom actually are that stupid than to say anything about Germans...)
As far as I know the National Geographic Society sends the same magazine everywhere but I usually got my copies from American GI's yard sales or the like...
I was walking down the street one day...

Olive, at least I now know that the unit is normal by Sony's standards for that deck. I still haven't checked the tuner or record capabilities but I think I will do that shortly, as soon as I check out some topices of mine on the Linux pages.
Later. Pepse.
Sean:
I had a friend that owned one of those televisions. It was a Zenith, early on in the System3 days..
Finally broke down an made myself a little webpage...
http://uk.geocities.com/olive_e_thomas/Olive_Garden_of_delights.html
Olive:
I've got a goody for you.. I'm downloading the theme from My Three Sons in mp3.. I'll squash it down to AM radio quality and e-mail it to you, and you can use it on your page there... (My Three Son(y)s, get it? :) )
_@_v - hee hee, I see somebody 'gets' that reference in that 'My three Sony's' name....
If you sent me that MP3 I probably wouldn't be able to use it for copyrigt infringement reasons and because I only get 15 MB total from GeoCities to use for web pages and I wanted the space for a future page to display all the pix I've managed to sleech off E-bay over the last couple years or so. Now if somebody had MP3s of the synthesized voice of the SL-2410/15 VCR - that I could use.
Thanks for the idea at least.
Olive:
Is that you in the B&W picture on your page? Anyway, I made a little recording of most of the voice for the SL-2410 on a Phillips Compact cassette and sent it to Ray Glasser. He still has it. I do not. Andy has the deck. The deck never said anything witty. IT did honk on the hour, though.
Sean
I have a Toshiba V-S36 Beta machine stored in my carage for many years, along with a few dozen tapes. Because I am an unwilling slave to an inferior format (VHS), I would like to dispose of the Beta. What am I offered?
George FieldsPalm Springs, [email protected]
Oh, Olive. Silly you.... Why should you be concerned about copyright? I mean.. Don't most of us use our Betas to grab copies of DVDs? :D I wonder what the TV stations would say if they find out I've been using their music for a couple of years now.. :) :) :)
_____@_¼¼ it doesnt look THAT heavy [|||| SP]-) betacam SP camera.. :)
Olive:
You would have no copywrite problems if you used only the opening snippet from it, and as I said, I can crunch it to AM radio quality and make that snippet just a few KB file. :) Most likely smaller than some of your pics.
I'm here and that little ad-banner on the top of the page is telling me to find out how I can connect my DVD-ROM drive to an HDTV (like I have one!). But Widescreen DVD->SuperBeta->WSTV would be nice. ;)
Anyhow, that statement of us using our betas to make DVD copies is certainly true! I'm well-known at the Blockbuster & West Coast Video stores in my area (not that they truly know what I'm DOING w/ their rentals [:} :} :}] ). I've impressed friends w/ some of my dupes (source of pride!)! In fact my boi and I just got finished watching my home-shaking-surround copy of Blade II. So no complaint here. :::::::|_| << Snailie-Wacker 2000
THe truth about copyrights and music. you can play up to 45 seconds of any song, and you're not counted as having played it at all. I think that means that "Her Majesty" by the beatles basicaly cannot be copyrighted... I am not sure about that, but as long as you keep it to 45 seconds and under, you're cool. I'm not too certain about copying a DVD, but, I don't think they'll come after you unless you start selling copies or passing them out like candy or showing them in public or something.
Sean
Well I think I'll pass on the My 3 Sons. soundfile anyways. It's a lot of trouble for a marginal return of mirth - everybody got the joke already. I have a soundfile in mind I want to use but I'm not telling till I get it ready. Also I had to use the 'Page Wizard' thingie to set up my page and there's nothing there that shows me how to imbed sound in a page. I probably ought to just steal the code from that Hampster Dance page or get a reference book on HTML...
So, what are you going to do, the "Betadance?" have SL-HF-750s bounce around in circles and then all open their drawers. That would be cool. Is that a picture of you or just some random lady in a garden? By the way, the site is neat. Certainly more content than the "betahifi" site, or maybe I'm too dumb to figure out how to get to its content...
Sean
Yes that picture is Olive in her garden...
I meant I was going to sleech the code for adding sound. Unfortunately you don't get dancing hamsters at that page anymore. It's yet another site who's main purpose is to install tracking software (what is euphemistically called 'cookies' but let's face it it's tracking software) on you computer so that spammers can learn how to spam you more effectively.
But dancing SL-HF 750s is not a bad idea. Anyone know how to make GIF loops? What tune would go with that, you think?
I do not know anything about GIFs, but I am trying to make my own web page... collecting photos os all my gear. Some of it is not photographed. I will also put a "Beta objects of lust" page with the SL-HF-2100, SL-HF-1000, SL-HF-900, GCS-50 and GCS-1, and SL-HF-750. Any suggestions as to what I should put would be greatly appreciated. It will not be all beta, Also my open-reel video and audio will be featured, along with some other gear.
Sean
Just go to http://uk.geocities.yahoo.com/filemanager and they'll get you started on a page. They seem to be the better page service around. No banners or pop-ups and they have a 'Page Wizard' thingie that lets you get a page up quick that you can modify later as your skills improve...

http://uk.geocities.com/redoctober7000/Mypage.htmlDidn't mean to outdo you Olive, but I had to go a little overboard. This is still very basic, but it will do. I wish I could ad more pages or something, but I know abosolutely nothing about HTML.
Sean
ya but I bet I can outdo all of you with Flash :) LOL.. now if I had some betapix to start off with.. and some nice KMOL music..oops I mean.... uh.... :)
But I don't know Flash. So you probably could. Anyhow, I was going to wait for the end and offer the guy $35 for the Marantz beta, because no-one touched it for a while. I didn't expect everyone to jump at the last second, so I have placed bids on other stuff. If you look, you will find it... No, I don't know where I will get the money either!
Sean
I'm currently in the process of designing my own web site(actually my friends and I are doing a site for our little club). Of course my section will have a Betamax page. I'll post the URL up here as soon as I have it online. It may be awhile though.

For those of you who are wondering what Andy did with their Beta's, please check E_BAY. He usually sells them for you on that wonderful venue. I once sent him an SL-Hf1000 to repair, he then pulled his disappearance act. Later, I found him selling it at auction. You can read all about it in a past issue of "The Beta Informer". Best of luck to all.
I think I remember hearing about that. I know andy is selling an SL-HF-1000, but I have a 900 with him. It won't be hard to spot, it is missing the bottom door and the front plate is cut for BIs. I don't think he stole it, but I may hace to try out the phone number he gave me.

I heard you can swipe a credit card on a betamax head to get the PIN no. on screen.,...You cannot do that can you???
Probably just a rumor. someone attributing something to betamax that it cannot do. There are other ways to steal credit cards. actually,be careful if you are about to put a card in anywhere, that there is not a small raised black box that looks like you are supposed to put your card in. That is a thing that will copy the info and PIN in your card, so if it looks suspiscious, give it a good yank, and if it comes off, be sure to tell the person who runs the ATM!

Hello there. Wow. Interesting things have gone on I see. I take a 3 dayhiatus (to the mountains to enjoy myself) and I see I am kidnapped by snails,a "SLHF1000" is trying to defame my character. What can one say? Yes read the beta informer archives. Sure, you will find some "dirt" on me. That wasstuff that happened 3-4 years ago. Mistakes I made early on, which I learnedfrom. I did make some mistakes, but it NEVER involved keeping things thatwere *NOT* mine, and especially selling them.
What "SLHF1000" insinuates is just plain silly. Why would I want to sellsomething that is sent to me for repair that I repair to make a living? How ridiculous is this claim this "anon" has made? I sell machines peoplesend to me for repair. Sure if I did that I would have been gone LONGAGO.
I guess repairing Beta units for people who otherwise can not find sourcesof repair and parts is just not something that should be done? Making people happy because I was able to repair their units? It is alwaysinteresting to hear how one negative person can seemingly influence othersso easily. Isn't there any positives out there? Does anyone reallyappreciate me here? It just seems like I am not much appreciated out there.
Would anyone really care if I just said "forget this" and I STOP repairingbetamax equipment altogether? I know this is what negative people arethinking they can accomplish. But I am not going anywhere, especiallyover someone posting such ridiculous claims .
There is not much left to say here. All I know is, I do the bestto be as honest as possible. I do the best to repair Beta units to my abilities. I think if I was unable to be honest I would not be here still repairing machines after all these years.
So in other words, there should not be any need to defend myselfany further over some "SLHF1000" anonymous poster making ridiculous claims.
On a parting note: I know "SLHF1000" is/was an Ebay user. Check the user profile. I just did. Quite interesting if these two are the same.

Andy, with the deal you gave me, I can't help but appreciate you. Anyhow, I jsut want to say a few things! SLHF1000 is another troll! he's just found a new way to attack our members! I would reccomend Andy's Betas to anyone! The deals are great. Don't leave us, Andy, you're, in my mind, at least, 33% of the reason I go for a beta that is the least bit questionable, since I can always have you fix it. Stick with us, and ignore the trolls!

I have aquired a Sony HVC 2000P camera (Without recorder) and I would like a circuit diagram or any other info as the camera does not work (Completely out of focus - reacts to light but that is all.
Cheers Pete
Agreed! Andy, don't leave us based on what some AOLamer says!
I can say nothing but good things about Andy.. and will continue to recommend him as one of the very best there is at his craft. :) Chin up, Andy... there are troublemakers everywhere, we can't let them get to us.
Take care, and stay well. :)
