I have for sale some brand new and boxed video heads for the VR2020 / VR2021. Priced at just £25 each inc UK post, they are the cheapest anywhere. Limited number at this price, only one or two per buyer please to be fair.

Also have a VR2023 which can work, but usually is a bit mad due to a faulty CPU board. If you have a known good CPU for the 2023 then let me know, or if you would like to buy the machine for your own use. When it works, it plays very well and the heads look excellent. Priced at just £25 plus post, to clear it.

Further, I have new panels of various types for the VR2020 / VR2021, along with new mechanical components. Let me know your requirements and I'll see what I can do.

Having never locked it I am not inpossession of an unlock code, however, I understand from my handbook there is an enginerrs unlock code or some other mechanism whereby this can be achieved. Hi - I have a Beocord 8802 to sell / dispose of - it is in very good condition - the only blemishes are on the perspex panel which appears to be pealing ? in parts, I have owned the product from new & the manual is in mint condition. This is for the N1500 but may work in other N series machines. These don't appear to come up very often from what I can gather.

I know that from past experiences, these messages are read months/years after they are posted, so if you are reading this after 20th August 2005 then I'm afraid it is likely that the item has been sold. I still get regular emails asking about old N1500's that I used to have, 5 years after I parted with them, hence the reason for my lack of email address above.

hello all,recently came across this site and find it most interesting,brought back memories of many years ago when i was involved in the training of technicians repairing philips v2000 machines.I have many spare parts(including about a dozen 2020 and 2022 heads),complete service manuals,technical description manuals,tracking set up tapes and much more. I also have a vr2022 in good working order + remote kit and a/v adaptor.If anyone is interested in purchasing as a "job lot" please contact me.I live in Nottingham.

I have what was a complete service manual for the VR2020, video in/out adaptor, remote control kit, portable video colour camera v200 and probably other associated bits. It is a set of photocopies bought off Philips NZ Ltd as they didn't have any spare manuals to sell me at the time (I have the receipt dated 1987 still :-). The circuit diagrams are on a3 sized pages, the rest on a4. It is no longer in the folders they sold it to me in, so I can't be sure no pages were lost. (the pages weigh about 3.5kg in total - big VCR = big manual :-)

I assume it is of use to someone still, it originally cost me $NZ100.00, anyone want to offer me something for it?

Just finished a house clearance today and found a Bang and Offerson Beocord 8802 Video 2000 player and 10 tapes, pluged it in seems to work (its very very quiet and swish design). Only thing is i am so out of date with VCR (I use my PC all the time for TV, and its just the laser dic and or DVD player) My question is two fold, 1/. do i have to tune the video inot the tv ? or can i just throw a tape in press play and scan for the video???? 2/. does anyone want this ? (its damn heavy 20kilos or so and twice the size of a VCR) should i just whack it on ebay or does anyone desperatly want it and can do a deal with me here?

Hi Jimmy The 2023 has broken down again and the cassette rack is opening further than what it s suppossed to, so my dad is interested in exchanging it for the Bang and Olufsen 8802 machine you have. Obviously it is the same version as the Philips 2022 so am I rightin thinking it doesnt have the picture search facility and is it run my microprocessors like the Philips which sometimes makes it have a mind of its own. The 2023 has never beena reliable machine even when it was new it would just stop playing or it would freeze so you had no stop light or rewind light or any light in that matter. I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Philips VR2023 VCR and it is not working what well as it is chewing up the tapes. I need to either get mine fixed, purchase one or hire one for a few months. My late father used this format extensively and my mom has given me a number of tapes of the family and I would really like to get a machine to convert these tapes over to dvd. Once this task is all done I am quite happy to part with the machine and about 400 tapes.

Can anyone either sell me a machine or advise where I can get mine fixed.

Anyone need parts off a non-working Philips N1702 ? I know the video heads are damaged but there maybe other parts on it that might be useful to someone. Also I have a 2nd N1702 that is sort of working - it starts to load but then switches off and unlaces before it completes the threading process. Any ideas what might be wrong with it ? All the drive belts look ok and the drum does start to spin up. Thanks.

Anyone have a scrap Philips N1700? I need a drum motor. It's one of two motors on a bracket on the underside of the deck, and it's probably easiest to ship the pair of motors on the bracket. Anyone able to help? I'm in the UK.

Not quite V2000 related, I know, though incidentally I do V2000 to DVD transfers if anyone needs them, see my web site http://www.colin99.co.uk/videocopy.html

I've just bought N1500 and N1700 machines, which I've been servicing. Trouble is, I have only one tape, and that is damaged (it jams because some of the plastic interior is disintigrating). So, does anyone have one or two of these tapes which they don't need, preferably with some recordings on them? I long ago donated mine to a museum and now regret it! Also, if you have an N1500 tape to transfer to DVD, I will do this for you if the machine fully works.

At present, the N1500 mechanically runs and seems ready to try. The N1700 needs more attention, it's not behaving properly.

Hello everybody. I have a request to make not for a machine (although I'd like one - I had one in 1994 but I managed to wreck one of the heads). My query is slightly different.

I run a website which looks for old 'offcuts' of telly - stuff between the programmes. So, that means things like weather forecasts, promotions of forthcoming programmes, new season trailers, continuity/engineering/transmitter announcements, temporary fault announcements, programme menus/lineups/slides, and so on. Also anything unusual that may happen (such as unannounced 'test' broadcasts that may have accidentally been recorded at night or after a mid-morning programme after which testcard was scheduled). I am particularly interested in various ITV regional logos and collecting the various animations including them that will have been transmitted over the years.

If anybody has ANY clips at all of anything more than 20 years old, from the BBC, any ITV region or Channel 4, I would be very grateful if you would consider copying this material to DVD for me. The original tapes and indeed the programmes themselves would not be required. I would be happy to pay a small charge for the trouble.

I have a Philips VR 2020 and a Philips VR 2023. The 2020 has just been fired up after 6 years in storage and has just snapped one tape and ruined another one by wrapping itself round the tape heads. The VR2023 powers up ok but when the play button or rewind/forward preview the machine just switches off. Can anybody help me by pointing me in the right direction of a good quality repairer in the Manchester area or maybe swap or exchange the machines for a reconditioned V200 system.M Barnett

I have spend hours trying to play back old videos my children loved so i can re record on dvd. i can get both my old philips 2000 and grundig video 2x4 sytem to play but the tapes are below par probably because the machines need a good head clean after all these years. how can i get a cleaning tape for the systems and retrieve my childrens old favourites?

Hi,Does anyone know of a reliable person / shop in the South West where I can get my Grundig 2 x 8 V2000 repaired? A chap on this forum has been trying to help me fix it myself (thanks Steve - I've sent you yet another mail!!) but I now think I will need to take it to a shop.Originally it had dirty heads/tape path caused by using a cassette purchased from E Bay but now I have an "F" error displaying and the cassette will not lace up. When trying to load a cassette but the player accepts it, then goes into FF or RW (?) but only one wheel seems to be moving which caused the tape to snap (and made a horrible noise!).Any help would be greatly appreciated as I desperately want to keep this great machine going.I can be contacted via e-mail - [email protected]
